En Bloc, 2014 I believe in simplicity of expression.  In keeping with this belief, I systematically strip away  non-essential elements and information to focus on the convergence of composition, form  and color. When creating my current series, En Bloc, I explored simplicity of expression within the  physical context of the gallery. The physical space of the UMKC Gallery of Art was a major  influence on the work, and the pieces were created to breathe on their own and in synergy  with the exhibition space. The transparent acrylic plastic and semi-translucent vinyl encourage  the lighting in the gallery to pull the installation into the space through shadows and color  castings.   My ultimate goal is for the visual energy of this series to trigger a unique experience  within the viewer and for the work to do this on its own, en bloc.
