About the artist
Jorge García Almodóvar was born in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1972. He attended
Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New
York City. He currently lives in Kansas City, MO, where he received the Charlotte
Street Visual Art Award in 2008.
His work has been on display in various galleries throughout the Kansas City area.
In addition to his gallery work, he has also been involved in public art, including a
permanent sculpture at Summit Fair Shopping Center in Lee's Summit, MO.
In 2014, his solo exhibition entitled, En Bloc opened at the UMKC Gallery of
Art. It earned him great praise by art critic Alice Thorson of the Kansas City Star.
